The Big Event - 2026 Household Scrap Drop-Off
August 19, 2026Free event for Russell residents. Please bring ID/Proof of Residency. One pick-up truck load per household.
Russell Township Road Garage, 15625 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH 44072 - September 12, 2026 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
When the dumpsters are filled the event is over.
- Vehicles may not wait or queue up on Chillicothe Rd.
- Residential scrap only.
- Loose items such as shingles, plasterboard, etc must be in a container.
- Glass must be duct taped (tvs, windows, mirrors).
- Upholstery, mattresses and box springs must arrive wrapped in plastic due to bed bugs.
List of Acceptable Items:
- furniture
- appliances
- carpet cut & bundled
- toys, clothing, lamps
- grills - no propane tanks
- windows - glass and mirrors must be duct taped
List of Unacceptable Items: (NOTE: this list is not all encompassing.)
- food waste
- appliances containing Freon
- chemicals or solvents
- ashes
- batteries
- propane or gas tanks
- dirt, rocks, sod
- paint cans
- medical waste
- hazardous waste
