Amy Heutmaker, brings a background in healthcare, mental health, and community service to her role as a Russell Township Trustee. She relocated to Russell Township in August 2024 and was elected to serve the community shortly thereafter, bringing both professional expertise and a fresh perspective to local government.

Professionally, Amy works in healthcare as a mental health counselor, where she has extensive experience navigating complex systems, supporting individuals and families, and balancing compassion with clear-eyed problem-solving. Her work centers on treating people as people first, a principle that strongly informs her approach to public service.

Amy is committed to responsible governance, fiscal transparency, and collaborative problem-solving. She values evidence-based decision-making and believes township government works best when it is accessible, responsive, and respectful of both residents and staff.

Since moving to Russell Township, Amy has been impressed by the community’s strong support for public safety, infrastructure, and quality local services. As a trustee, she is focused on listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and helping guide decisions that support the township’s long-term stability while honoring the values of the residents who call it home.
